Firebirds SC continues to build upon its highly successful Girls High School program.
In the past 3 years we have had two teams play within the State Premier Division and State Cup competitions, a further 2 participate in the Presidents Cup along with playing within the top divisions of IWSL. We are constantly achieving our goal of providing players a pathway to playing soccer at the collegiate level with over 10 players going on to play college soccer since graduating from our program.
Our players have become invaluable to their respective High Schools, with recently over 11 Firebird players representing the Glenbard East team which finished 3rd in State. We welcome players from all High Schools to try-out if they are keen on playing college soccer, or even just developing their skills and love for the game within a professional program that cares for it’s players.
To provide all players with a positive learning environment where they feel a sense of belonging and pride. Our program provides a platform for players to reach their soccer aspirations, with a key focus to players aiming to play college soccer.
Our club boasts a coaching staff of the highest quality. Not only do our staff all possess professional licensing and extensive playing and coaching backgrounds, but they are also the most personable staff in the area and truly care about our players and our club, and that’s what sets us apart.
Some of the coaches that we see within our HS Girls program are listed below:
Adam re-joins Firebirds Soccer Club as Director of Coaching since leaving the club in 2015 to complete his Masters in Management, whilst coaching at the youth professional level in England. Adam holds his FA Level 2 in Coaching football, and is working towards his UEFA B. He also has achieved Football Psychology and Talent Identification qualifications, USSF Coaching licences with a goal to reach the A Licence. Further to his Masters, academically Adam has achieved an Honours Degree in Sport Development and Coaching. He has also achieved his NVQ in Sporting Excellence and a BTEC National Diploma in Sport.
Adam has been coaching for over 9 years, both in the UK and the USA. Following playing full time at the Professional level in England, Adam coached within the Lincoln University Football program and in the USA for U.K. International, where he became a Regional Director. Adam continued to play during his studies at the Semi-professional level for Stamford AFC and Lincoln United respectively. Adam currently also coaches at the Collegiate level with the Men’s program at Saint Xavier University.
Here is some impressive background on Coach Emily: "Emily Tyner comes to Firebirds Soccer Club this spring with club and college experience. She is currently at Dominican University as an assistant women’s soccer coach with an abundance of experience as a coach at the collegiate level, including five years as a head coach and four years as an assistant coach. Tyner’s most recent experience came at Ave Maria University where she served as an assistant coach, focusing on goalkeeping and defense, from 2015 to 2016 before becoming program’s the head coach in the Spring of 2016. As the head coach of the Gyrenes, Tyner led the program to the most wins in university history and the program’s first conference tournament appearance. Prior to Ave Maria, Tyner had stops at Providence College, St. Joseph’s College, and Saint Charles Community College in addition to Scorpions Soccer Club and Blackburn Rovers Professional Football Club in Blackburn, England. His coaching background includes stints as the U16-U18 head coach & director of goalkeeping with Springfield Thunder (OH), staff coach with PAWs Goalkeeper Academy, as well as spending time with the Chicago Fire Player Development program. He currently has a USSF National D License and working towards NSCAA qualifications as well.
The club is thrilled to add James to their staff. An experienced and knowledgeable GK coach who will construct and ensure quality delivery of the GK program
